Evan has been hospitalized

Long story short - took him to the ER because he threw up his meds. Temp lowered to 99, and got a shot of rocephin (sp?) since he couldn't keep the Zithromax down.

Got home and he turned a weird shade of purple and started shaking uncontrollably. Called the pedi who told us to call 911.

We think he had a febrile seizure. He was cold to the touch but had a fever of 105. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital and admitted. We don't know what he has at this point in time. They want to make sure it isn't mono or meningitis.

Will update as I get a chance.

Jenn

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I know how scary it is when one of your kiddos is sick. Remember to take care of yourself, your no good to your child if your run down and end up sick. It's rough but it needs to be done. Please keep us updated.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers! When my son was almost 17 months old (he's 11 now...time flies!), he spiked a fever and had a febrile seizure. By the time I got him to the ER, his temp was 105 degrees! I, of course, was hysterical. They ended up doing a spinal tap to rule out meningitis. It wasn't, thank God. They kept us in the ER until his fever went down. When it finally broke, days later, he ended up breaking out in a rash. It turned out to be roseolla. I hope it is something that harmless for your little one! (Of course, I was a basket case until he was better!) To this day, fevers make me break out in a rash! :)
Keep us posted when you have time!

Please know I'm praying for you and your family. Please continue to keep us posted. My fourth daughter did a very similar thing when she was 18 months. I couldn't count her seizures she had so many. She had fever induced seizures and it never happened again (she's 10 yrs. old now). I know how absolutely terrifying this is. Sending a huge hug to you right now.
